Corey Liuget played college football at the University of Illinois, where he was a standout defensive tackle. He was selected in the first round (18th overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers. Liuget spent eight seasons with the Chargers organization, earning the team's Defensive Player of the Year award in 2012. He later played for the Oakland Raiders and Buffalo Bills before signing with the Houston Texans in 2020. Throughout his career, Liuget has been known for his powerful run defense and ability to pressure quarterbacks from the interior. His rookie trading cards are from 2011.
