Gale Sayers, known as "The Kansas Comet," played college football at the University of Kansas, where he was a two-time All-American. He was drafted by the Chicago Bears as the fourth overall pick in the 1965 NFL Draft. During his seven-year NFL career, all with the Bears, Sayers was a five-time First-team All-Pro, four-time Pro Bowl selection, and led the league in rushing twice. He was named NFL Rookie of the Year in 1965 and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1977. Despite his career being cut short by knee injuries, Sayers remains one of the most electrifying runners in NFL history. His rookie trading cards are from 1966.
