Ladd McConkey attended the University of Georgia, where he played college football as a wide receiver. During his time at Georgia, McConkey contributed significantly to the team's offense and was part of the squad that won the College Football Playoff National Championship in the 2021 season. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Chargers during the 2024 NFL Draft.
